Concord’s Location:
Concord, CA is located approximately 30 miles east of San Francisco in the Bay Area, sometimes referred to as the East Bay. Concord is the largest city in Contra Costa County with a population of just over 120,000. Concord encompasses much of what is referred to as the Diablo Valley which sits in the shadow of Mt. Diablo.
Concord is about 22 miles from Oakland, CA and 55 miles to San Jose, CA. Concord is bordered by Pleasant Hill and Martinez/Pacheco to the west, Walnut Creek to the southwest, Clayton to the southeast, Bay Point to the northeast, and Pittsburg to the east. The northern edge of Concord is the San Joaquin River Delta.
With easy access to Hwy 4, I-680, and within easy driving distance of Hwy 24, you can reach Bay Area destinations easily and efficiently. A short drive north over the Benicia Bridge drops you into Solano County.

Concord offers many different travel and transportation options. Public transportation in the form of buses and BART are readily available.
Bus Systems
Local public transportation is served by the County Connection. This is an extensive bus network that operates throughout Contra Costa County.
BART
Alternatively, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is an electric train network that services destination in much of the Bay Area. Many work in Oakland or San Francisco and use this when commuting. Concord has two stations: The North Concord/Martinez station and the downtown Concord Station.
Air
Finally, for those who travel, both the San Francisco International Airport and the Oakland International Airport are within 50 miles. Both airports have connection to BART. Plus, if you own a small plane you can take advantage of the Buchanan Field Airport located right outside the city limits.
